Led by Miss Katrina Goodman

Every case at Goodman Research & Tracing Group is opened and signed off personally by Miss Katrina Goodman, Founder & Lead Investigator. She spent eleven years in fraud investigation for a major UK insurer before founding the agency, and holds a postgraduate qualification in forensic investigation alongside her ABI membership.

Her casework today spans matrimonial and relationship investigations, corporate due diligence, and complex tracing instructions — often for clients who've been let down by a less thorough enquiry elsewhere. She remains hands-on with every file the agency accepts, and personally reviews each report before it reaches a client.

What we're instructed for

Each engagement begins with a scoping call to confirm the evidence is lawfully obtainable and proportionate before any work begins.

DOMESTIC

Matrimonial & relationship

Establishing fact around infidelity or cohabitation concerns, with surveillance conducted strictly within the law.

CORPORATE

Due diligence & fraud

Pre-investment checks, employee misconduct, insurance fraud, and asset tracing for businesses and insurers.

TRACING

People tracing

Locating missing family members, debtors, or witnesses using lawful, ICO-compliant tracing methods.

SURVEILLANCE

Covert surveillance

Static and mobile surveillance carried out by trained operatives, documented to evidential standard.

LEGAL SUPPORT

Process serving & evidence

Supporting solicitors and barristers with process serving, witness tracing, and statement-ready reports.

TSCM

Bug & device sweeps

Technical surveillance countermeasures for homes, vehicles, and boardrooms, with a written clearance report.

How an instruction runs

A clear, staged process — you'll always know what stage your case is at and what it's costing.

STAGE 1

Confidential call

We listen, assess whether the case is lawful and viable, and give you an honest view — free of charge.

STAGE 2

Fixed-fee proposal

A written scope and fixed or capped fee, so there are no surprises once work is under way.

STAGE 3

Investigation

Your assigned investigator carries out the work, with regular updates at agreed intervals.

STAGE 4

Report & handover

A written report, evidence log, and — where needed — a witness statement suitable for court.

Why clients instruct us

  • ✓

    Experienced investigators

Our senior team has a background in UK policing, insurance fraud investigation, or family law support work.

  • ✓

No licence exists — so we set our own bar

Private investigation isn't currently a licensed profession in England & Wales. We hold ABI membership, ICO registration and DBS checks instead, and we're glad to show you.

  • ✓

    Insured & indemnified

Professional indemnity and public liability insurance held on every case we open.

  • ✓

    Evidence built for court

Reports are prepared to a standard accepted by solicitors, family courts, and tribunals.

"They found what three months of asking questions myself couldn't.                and the report held up when it mattered."
